Please join in for a morning of gardening at the historic Thomas-Siegler carriage house, on Tulip Avenue between Cedar and Maple, Saturday June 12, 9 am-noon. Come for an hour or for all three. We will work under the direction of Takoma Park City Gardener Mike Welsh to make the grounds more attractive and usable and set the stage for new, fall planting. All are welcome: experienced gardeners and novice helpers. Just bring water and gloves. Bring favorite tools (weeding, pitchforks) if you have them; Mike will supply tools for those who need them and is arranging for mulch delivery. And you can earn Master Gardener hours for volunteering. Please do let us know if you'll definitely be coming and for how long -- send a note to grimes@altaplana.com -- or just come by any time between 9 am and noon. We can use your help. The Thomas-Siegler garden is a valuable public resource, located in the Philadelphia-Eastern Neighborhood (PEN), owned by the City of Takoma Park and managed in cooperation with Historic Takoma Inc. (HTI). See Please join your neighbors in helping maintain it. It will be fun! If you have neighborhood activities you'd like us to list, please contact us. |
