From RonaldR@takomagov.org Fri Nov 16 11:34:28 2007 Date: Fri, 16 Nov 2007 14:33:17 -0500 From: Ronald Ricucci To: Ronald Ricucci Subject: [AlertTakoma] REVISED Old Town Residents' Association Meeting I want to thank everyone of OTRA who took time from their busy lives to attend the meeting last night. There were over 40 people in attendance, which was the largest attendance at any community meeting since becoming your Chief. I believe the large crowd indicates your concern for your safety and the well being of our City. As I stated last night, we are committed to making our City safer. From improving lighting, pruning trees, and increasing the visibility of our police department. Please do not hesitate to call Pepco if you see a light that is out. Call us for any suspicious persons, vehicle or situation. You can call 9-1-1 or 301.270.1100. When in doubt, please call us. Every call is important to us. This morning, I was briefed on pruning trees as a result of your questions last night. We can cut back trees which block lights. Both Pepco and our Public Works department will cut back trees on the public rights of way. The police department will be surveying to see what trees are blocking lights. We will be announcing a meeting time shortly for citizens on patrol. Please be safe and observant at all times. Working together, we can make a difference. Turn on your porch lights! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Ronald A. Ricucci Chief of Police 7500 Maple Avenue Takoma Park, Maryland 20912 (301) 891-7104
